2021

AN EXCELLENT VINTAGE FROM ALL POINTS OF VIEW

After a cold and snowy winter, the month of March with its mild temperatures was the backdrop to the regular vegetative growth. In April the return of cold temperatures, with late frosts with mild and limited effects, did not affect the Nebbiolo, a potentially exposed early developing variety.

The summer of good weather and temperatures without excesses continued until the second half of September when the significant temperature variations between night and day created the ideal conditions for the optimal phenolic maturation of the Nebbioli from Barbaresco.

At the beginning of October the bunches had a very rich polyphenolic content, essential for producing structured and balanced wines, destined to last over time.

THE WINE

Barbaresco 2021 is a wine of high fullness and consolidated harmonies, with vibrant aromas declined on floral and fruity notes and a powerful and complex structure that will find perfect elegance in the evolution of the coming years.

The longevity of the vintage is decidedly marked and offers profound analogies with 2020 and 2019.

In 2021, the viticultural potential could count on 812 hectares of vineyard area, with over 5 million bottles (5,165,461) of actual production.
