The history of the De Forville winery begins in 1860, when the founder Gioacchino De Forville, of Walloon descent, followed in the footsteps of Domizio Cavazza, believing in the value of Nebbiolo grown and vinified in Barbaresco, the town where De Forville would establish his winery. Gioacchino’s work was continued by his sons Vincenzo, Paolo and Mafalda. The latter married Bruno Anfosso, giving life to the latest generation, that of Paolo and Valter. The De Forville winery owns vineyards on the hills of Barbaresco (Nebbiolo and Dolcetto) and Castagnole Lanze (Barbera d’Asti, Moscato and Chardonnay). The cultivation of Nebbiolo for Barbaresco takes place in the Ovello, Cavanna and Loreto vineyards.
