Around 1940, Giovanni Battista Francone took over the family business from his mother Teresa and began winemaking. Later, in 1964 in Neive, Giovanni Battista and his sons Mauro and Silvano built a new and large cellar with the aim of welcoming the first curious tourists who came to the Langhe attracted by the then emerging wine identity. Today the company has strengthened its hospitality and direct sales activities, thanks to the commitment of Mauro Francone and his sons Marco and Fabrizio. The company applies a type of viticulture with integrated pest management. In 2017, the Francone winery celebrated 50 years of the “Valsellera” Classic Method sparkling wine.
