The winery is owned by Silvio Giamello and is located in Barbaresco, near the almost homonymous cru Vicenziana, from which the name of the estate derives (Licenziana is a dialectal corruption). Silvio, assisted and supported by his wife Marina, took over his father’s work, a winemaker, in the 90s, changing his approach: he decided to vinify his own grapes, rather than selling them to third parties, as was previously the case.
