In 1977, Giuseppe and Lidia Rivetti founded La Spinetta in Castagnole Lanze, between Langhe and Monferrato. Starting in the mid-1980s, the original structure of the winery was renovated and expanded with the addition of their three children to the company, who now manage four locations, three in Piedmont and one in Tuscany, with a 165-hectare property that produces 650,000 bottles a year.
In 1995, the first Barbaresco Gallina was released onto the market, with the Dürer rhinoceros on the label, identifying the company's Barbarescos. In the following years, the Starderi, Valeirano and Bordini crus were also vinified.
