Strada Argantino 76, Località Altavilla Alba (CN) T. +39 335 7086636
The history of Cascina Piccaluga (from the Ligurian dialect “take the grapes”) began at the end of the 19th century, when a Genoese doctor bought some land in Altavilla, on the Alba hills between Treiso and Barbaresco, building a farmhouse at the top. At the beginning of the 20th century, Carlo Abellonio worked first as a sharecropper and then as an owner, planting the first Dolcetto and Nebbiolo vineyards. In 1996, the company passed into the hands of Roberto Abellonio, who, following in his great-grandfather’s footsteps, promoted an important corporate transformation, through the increase in the vineyard area, the strengthening of production and the expansion of the range of grapes grown and wines produced. Cascina Piccaluga today has about 10 hectares of vineyards.
Environmental sustainability guides the company’s choices in the vineyard and in the cellar.
