The Beccaris Distillery was born almost thanks to a “magic trick,” as in 1951 the founder, Cav. Uff. Elio Beccaris, was determined to start his own business. However, unsure whether to open a distillery, a winery, or a vinegar factory, he let his infant son Carlo make the decision. He placed three slips of paper with the different options into a hat and allowed the little boy to draw one—the decisive and, as it turned out, very fortunate choice. Today, the Distillery has maintained its character as a family-run business. The art of grappa-making, passed down from founder Elio to his son Carlo—who currently manages the company—is now being carried on with the same care and passion by his sons, Marco and Paolo.
