Spinona is a company that reflects its founder Pietro Berutti: a man with great experience, a partisan, a convinced promoter of the territory, who has believed in Barbaresco since the 1940s. The name comes from the breed of the dog Baica, a Spinona breed, who accompanied Pietro in the early years of work in the company and who today is the symbol of the winery. After Pietro's recent death, the company management passed to his grandson Pietropaolo who had already been working alongside his grandfather since he graduated from the Enological School of Alba.
