The company was founded in 1929, in one of the most economically critical historical periods; however, Sebastiano Musso, born in 1906, stubbornly continued winemaking and sales. In the 1960s, production increased significantly, so much so that Augusto, Sebastiano’s son, who had left for Turin some time earlier to seek his fortune in the mechanical sector, returned to Barbaresco. In the following years, Augusto and Sebastiano expanded the vineyards with the purchase of a plot of land on the Pora hill and an entire farmhouse in Rio Sordo. Currently, Valter, Augusto’s son, and his grandson Emanuele are in charge of the expanded and modernized company.
