Marriage of interest

One of the novelties of the 2017 edition of Piacere Barbaresco was the partnership with Trentodoc, guest of the guided tasting workshops, where it supported the Barbaresco DOCG in the discovery of the gastronomic excellences of Piedmont and Trentino. An AIS sommelier led the tasting of Barbaresco DOCG and three different types of Trentodoc; at his side, an ONAF master taster illustrated the characteristics of two Trentino cheeses and some traditional Piedmontese cheeses. The Piedmont Hazelnut PGI crowns the tasting.

Barbaresco: generations
of Sapienza in Comparison

On Saturday morning the conference "Barbaresco: generations of Sapienza in comparison" took place, a chat between the new and old generation of producers to retrace the last years of the history of Barbaresco, from the DOCG to the MGA, from the technological developments applied to vini cation to the progress of an agriculture increasingly aimed at respecting the environment and the vineyard.

MGA Tour
(Additional Geographical Mentions)

Another novelty of the 2017 edition was the return of the Tour of the crus, which offers the possibility of discovering the additional geographical mentions of the Barbaresco production area. The tour, carried out with a reserved minibus, visits the four municipalities of the Barbaresco DOCG production area, stopping in some of the 66 crus, where the producers personally describe their main characteristics.
