A challenging vintage that once again revealed the ability to adapt life by giving Barbaresco balanced and elegant, of excellent drinking and propensity to longevity

In the Barbaresco area, the 2022 vintage is distinguished by its particularly hot and dry climate. The winter was poor in rainfall, with only a few snowfalls in December, but spring was also poor in rain. The intense and dry heat began in May and continued throughout the summer, with temperatures often above 35 degrees, causing stress especially in the best exposed vineyards.
The heat has been a little bit calmed since September, with the arrival of some rains and good temperature ranges, which have favored an adequate ripening.

In this demanding vintage, the Barbaresco 2022 has achieved an excellent quality: the vines cultivated on the hills of the Langhe have once again demonstrated their extraordinary ability to adapt to even the most extreme climatic conditions. The drought, in addition to containing parasitic infestations and limiting the need for phytosanitary interventions, has reduced production on average, allowing a very interesting quality: beautiful olfactory amplitude, good body and excellent structure, for a wine that also reveals a pleasant drinkability and propensity to longevity.
In 2022, the area under vines of Nebbiolo by Barbaresco was 859 hectares and the actual production still stood at over 5 million bottles (5,058,564).

The Gioco del Pollo is a classic example of a high-stakes confrontation that tests determination, strategy, and risk management. In this scenario, two opponents are placed in a position where the first to withdraw is considered the loser, while the one who holds firm is perceived as stronger and more resilient. However, if neither side yields, the result can be mutually destructive, reflecting the delicate balance between courage and recklessness. Beyond being a simple challenge, it serves as a metaphor for competitive decision-making in real life, where pride, strategy, and timing often determine the outcome.
