For the 2022 vintage, the Enoteca del Barbaresco appoints Jeff Porter, wine journalist and Wine Enthusiast’s contact point in Northern Italy, to this role
Jeff Porter’s passion for wine began in his home state of Texas, where he took his first steps in the industry. After graduation, he becomes a consultant of several venues, including those of the Bastianich Group, and manages to realize in 2019 a docu-series on wine entitled "Sip trip".
His career has been growing until he received the prestigious assignment from the magazine Wine Enthusiast to review wines for Northern Italy. Thanks to his particular vision of wine and its consumption, Porter stands out in the vast panorama of eno-journalism for the cooler and easy cut that he gives to his reviews.
Thanks to its long experience and in-depth knowledge of the world of Piedmontese wine, Enoteca Regionale del Barbaresco is pleased to entrust the title of The Voice of Barbaresco 2022 to Jeff Porter, an innovative voice in the international enological panorama.
Throughout 2025 the focus of his work will be to shape a new way of approaching the Barbaresco DOCG, more in line with the habits of new consumers.
"Why not?" is the purpose that gives the name to the project introduced during the conference of April 10, 2025. At the wine school of Alba Jeff Porter will explain his vision of consumption of Barbaresco and typical products short chain, its future and unusual combinations that can be experienced.
